This Revolution Will Be Televised

Cop-Out The first painting of my Brand Name Series and soon to be Illuminated Limited Edition Print and T-shirt!  Be sure to sign up for my newsletter for details on when they drop!  Leave your deets under the vid!

I believe there’s a growing conscious awakening happening in the world.  Revolutions abound.  There’s one happening in me too.  I’m much more apt to ask what’s in something, rather than what’s in it for me.  There’s more to life than meets the eye most times and I enjoy digging deeper.  Who wants to settle for face value anyways?

My ex used to say I don’t have the same closed doors that most people have.  Maybe he’s right.  I definitely try/choose to keep them open.  A lot of my work comes from this state of mind.  If I leave myself open to the collective I usually receive it’s bounty.  I don’t always know what’s gonna come out, but these days I’m much more confident that the result is greater than what I would’ve come up with keeping my studio door closed.

Getting out in the world is part of my job and I have to admit I didn’t always realize that.  It’s easy to get complacent.  But I didn’t start painting because I wanted an easy ride.  I started because I needed to get something out and because I believe I have something to say.  That’s also the reason I started this blog.

I don’t want to cop out.  That’s for someone not ready for change and I am ready willing and able.  So let me be the conduit for you.  A filter on the collective unconscious and society as we know it.  I promise to keep my door open ( via this blog as well as my work) and you, well you tell me?  What is it that you want to hear form me?  I promise to always answer with the truth.  I’ve got a fire in my belly and if you’ve got questions….let’s chat.

Keep the lines open for the good of the collective!  Come on, you know you wanna!

Thanks so much for your time (believe me, I know it’s precious).

Love,

Lazarus xo

P.S. Would you like a Cop-Out T-shirt for your own iconic revolution?  Let me know below and I can put you on the pre-order list!  You won’t be disappointed!  ;)

You are poetry, my friend. Beautiful post. So beautifully phrased. I’m proud and impressed. And I call dibs on the FIRST cop-out shirt that rolls of the print press. So excited! Looking forward to reading more. Looking arms and hands with you, sweets. We both have much glorious adventuring ahead.

btw… LOVED this phrasing: “Getting out in the world is part of my job and I have to admit I didn’t always realize that. It’s easy to get complacent. But I didn’t start painting because I wanted an easy ride. I started because I needed to get something out and because I believe I have something to say.”

Yes! Yes! And yes! … thanks for the reminder. Getting out in the world is part of my JOB! I need to write this on my writing board. Too much time tethered to laptop. Not enough time drinking life in. You inspire me, ladybeans! ;) xo

BeautiFULL, Lazarus! Congratulations on your creation! your ART in the world. Your brilliance, your tapping in to the collective to give it voice and expression that others/WE can relate to and delight in. Such fullFILLMent. I know what you mean as a hidden artist. I was one too. I am just now making my way out and so to hear and see you helps support and strengthen my movement even further. So… I celebrate YOU! I celebrate me. The world indeed is in an awakening. And yes, revolutions are everywhere! xo

I am so with you on the “what’s in it.” I think I’m called to just go deep. It’s in my blood. I love that you have found such a provocative and colorful way to express your art, your love, your life. What I see unfolding here is big, maybe bigger than you imagine. Keep talking. I’m listening.

Although I’ve never wanted to be part of any collective going up as an only child and still have much of this desire in my adult life, I think that it’s in my best interest to keep a watchful eye as this progresses. Something is telling me that I may be an unknowing participant in your revolution.

I am definitely taking notes.

I just love what you’ve written here Lazarus! I really resonate with it. I don’t want to cop-our either! Time to dig deep and get ourselves out there. Love your art work. Can’t wait to see more.
